WTC2026 Call for Papers
The Notice on Call for Papers of the World Transport Convention 2026
The World Transport Convention (WTC) is an international academic conference jointly supported by domestic and foreign transport science and technology organizations. The WTC serves as a platform for researchers, scholars, practitioners from around the globe to present their work, share their experience, discuss cutting-edge technical issues, and explore solutions to common challenges the transportation industry faces today. The World Transport Convention 2026 (WTC 2026) is scheduled to be held in Tianjin, China in June 2026.
The Transport Technology and Industry Innovation Development Conference 2026 will be held immediately after WTC 2026. This conference aims to build a high-level exchange and cooperation platform for multiple disciplines in comprehensive transportation, and to promote the deep integration of transportation technology innovation and industry innovation.
In order to promote academic exchanges and technological progress in the industry, papers are being solicited from transportation and related fields at home and abroad. Below are the instructions for papers:
I. Scope of papers
Full paper or extended abstract in either Chinese or English in Highway Engineering, Bridge Engineering, Tunnel Engineering, Traffic Engineering, Transportation planning, Waterborne Transportation, Rail Transit, Air Transportation, Safety and Emergency Management, interdisciplinary areas and other fields is acceptable, involving academic research, technological innovation, experience summary, engineering practice and industrial development.
II. Requirements
1. The purpose of this call for papers is to encourage academic exchanges. Both unpublished and published papers are allowed.
2. Unpublished papers can be submitted in the form of a full paper or extended abstract. A full paper submitted should be authentic and original, and must not be plagiarized from any papers which have been previously published, presented, accepted for publication, or are under review by any other publications or conferences.
3. Previously published papers should be submitted only in the form of an extended abstract.
4. The full papers or extended abstracts submitted must not involve confidentiality issues, and the author bears sole responsibility for their views.
5. The full text of the paper should not cover more than 7 pages, and the length is preferably less than 5,000 words. The length for an extended abstract is preferably approximately 1,000 words.
III. Inclusion, publication and presentation
1. If you are an author of a full paper, you can choose one of the following methods: 1) have your paper included in the conference proceedings and give a presentation, 2) have your paper included in the abstract compendium and give a presentation, or 3) only give a presentation. If you are an author of an extended abstract, you can choose either to have your paper included in the abstract compendium and give a presentation, or to only give a presentation. Previously published papers must be submitted in the form of an extended abstract and you can only choose “only give a presentation”.
2. The Proceedings of WTC 2026 will be published and the electronic version of The Abstract Compendium of WTC 2026 will be produced.
(1) If the author selects the option of “to be included in the proceedings and giving a presentation”, the paper will be selected into The Proceedings of WTC 2026 for publication after it passed the review, and its abstract will be selected into the electronic version of The Abstract Compendium of WTC 2026. The Executive Committee shall provide an acceptance certificate of The Proceedings of WTC 2026 to the author.
(2) If the author selects the option of “to be included in abstract compendium and giving a presentation”, the abstract will be selected into the electronic version of The Abstract Compendium of WTC 2026 after the paper/extended abstract passed the review. The Executive Committee shall provide an acceptance certificate of The Abstract Compendium of WTC 2026 to the author.
(3) If the author selects the option of “only give a presentation”, the Executive Committee shall provide a review result certificate of the paper/extended abstract of WTC 2026 to the author after the paper/extended abstract passed the review.
3. The Executive Committee shall select no more than 100 authors whose papers/extended abstracts passed the review based on the merit to give a presentation at WTC 2026 and issue them the academic report certificate of WTC2026; Other authors may, according to their own preference, give a presentation at the Transport Technology and Industry Innovation Development Conference 2026, and issued the academic report certificate of the event.
4. Authors who receive the notification to present at the WTC 2026 should pay the participation fee of the conference within the specified time frame. Other authors who decide to present at the Transport Technology and Industry Innovation Development Conference 2026 should pay the participation fee of the event within the specified time frame.
5. To further facilitate the dissemination of paper findings and fully invigorate academic exchange, no review fee or publication fee will be charged for papers /extended abstracts of WTC 2026. Papers/extended abstracts that pass the review will receive the review result certificate of WTC 2026 or the acceptance certificate of The Proceedings of WTC 2026/ The Abstract Compendium of WTC 2026, regardless of whether the author pays the fee to attend and present.
6. Authors of the proceedings can decide whether it can be retrieved by CNKI. Inclusion in other forms will not be retrieved by CNKI.
7. Recommended Papers of WTC 2026 will be selected by the Executive Committee from the full papers that passed the review.
IV. Submission and participation
1. Please download the submission template for full paper or extended abstract at “Paper Submission” or “Download Center” on the WTC official website.
2. Please submit your paper at “Paper Submission” on the WTC official website. Please register an account to submit your paper. Those who have an account can log in directly.
3. When submitting your paper, please select the WTC division or discipline and technical committee according to the research area. The setting of WTC division, discipline, and technical committee can be found on the official website of the conference under "About - Structures – The 3rd Academic Sub-Committee"
4. The email address is the sole identity credential for the author to register to attend the conference and submit the paper. Please make sure to use the same email address so that the paper is consistent with the participating author.
5. In order to encourage more authors to attend the conference, at most 1 paper is allowed for each registered account.
V. Important dates
1. Call for papers starts at: October 31, 2025 (UTC+8).
2. The deadline for papers “to be included in the proceedings and give a presentation”: 24:00 on January 18, 2026 (UTC+8).
3. The deadline for papers “to be included in abstract compendium and give a presentation” and “only give a presentation”: 24:00 on January 31, 2026 (UTC+8).
